Een paar telefoontjes later hebben we de 500 dollar boete per voertuig, omgekeerd gekregen in een officiele waarschuwing met volgende mailtje:
"Dear Bruno and Wim
I am in receipt of your letters of appeal against the above infringement notices. Council has reviewed the issuing of these notices and advises as follows:
Caloundra City Local Law 10 (Parks and Reserves) specifically restricts the ability of camping in any off-street car park unless the area is signed allowing camping or a permit is obtained. Council acknowledges that as international tourists you would not have been aware of the restrictions. In order to clarify the issuing of these notices I advise that Council has received complaints regarding visitors camping in Clark Street Car park.
Notwithstanding the above Council has reviewed both your specific circumstances and in this instance will convert infringement notice number 24272 and 24273 to an official warning. I apologise I was unable to ring to discuss this matter with you further, however the telephone numbers provided can not be reached.
If you wish to discuss this matter further please do not hesitate to contact me directly. "
